Recap: Planta South Beach

by Brandie

The waitstaff at Planta are very knowledgeable and excited about the food they get to serve. Our waiter gave suggestions and we ultimately ended up leaving stuffed because we took her up on many of them! If I lived in the area I would go back multiple times in a short period just to try everything. We really wanted to order everything in our one visit.

It’s such a joy when you are plant based being able to breathe easily knowing you don’t have to worry about making alterations to your meal to make it vegan. There are plenty of healthy options and a multitude of comfort foods, as well. The Bianca pizza seemed to be a little dry. I would suggest they add a cashew cream sauce to help with that. The watermelon nigiri was different but tasty. It is made to resemble nigiri but won’t taste like any sushi you’ve ever had.

Planta South Beach is bigger than any other vegan establishment I have been to. An open space with high ceilings and pretty decor. It looks just like you would expect a trendy Miami Resturant to look, except with more trees around the exterior.

My favorite things were the chocolate terrarium dessert, drop the beet (drink), and the Thai salad.

Dessert first aagaaiinnnn.

The CHOCOLATE TERRARIUM: chocolate mousse, peanut butter cream, chocolate date soil, salted caramel and Charcoal ice cream*

Drinks: KOMBUCHA MOJITO:

bacardi superior rum, berries, mint, lime, agave, health-ade berry kombucha.

DROP THE BEET:

mezcal unión, lemon, raspberries, fresno chili, beets, ginger.

For dinner:

Ahi watermelon nigiri looks like sushi taste like watermelon. Thai salad, truffle fries and a Bianca pizza (with cauliflower, potatoes, rosemary, cashew mozzarella, truffle oil) and we added shaved truffles!!! my absolute favorite addition to almost any dish!

*everything is vegan! There is not only a location in South Beach, Miami but the first one opened in Toronto!
