The Whitney is a Detroit staple restaurant in a beautiful building. It’s a place you visit if not just to say you went as well as for the food. This place has several options whether you would like to enjoy brunch, afternoon tea, dinner, or dessert there are plenty of options. I’ve been hearing about the Whitney for quite some time now and most of the talk circled around there brunch. So this being my first visit I decided that is what I would try.
They have an irresistible selection of cocktails on the menu. I defiantly want to try a couple of these.
Knowing I had to order the Three Course Mansion Brunch I only needed to decide what it should consist of. Completing my order was the Smoked Salmon Crostini, Sauteed Michigan Whitefish, and Duo of Miniature Desserts: mixed berry and Bavarian creme and Chocolate and peanut butter pastries.
I loved the pastries but when do I not love pastries.
This brunch meal also comes with your choice of a mimosa, coffee, tea, or juice. I opted for a mimosa and a tea because how can you have brunch in absent of a mimosa and I don’t know how to say no to tea.
The tofu tower was the second choice entree we shared. This tofu didn’t have much flavor and would benefit from being sauteed in the balsamic versus balsamic being just drizzled over top, it was quite bland. If you are a tofu fan go for it, but if not steer clear. I love tofu and can eat it plain, but that comes from years of experience with tofu and also recently being rushed and not able to properly prepare it.
I was actually still hungry after eating. So order more food if you are hungry. Or only come here if you are feeling peckish.
As for pricing it is what I expected. After tip the meal was about $90.
The service was excellent and the place is beautiful. I am definitely going to come back for dinner and without a doubt order more desserts.
Haha I ate all the dessert. 😄
